Our warehouse racking solutions cover a wide range of applications including:
Choosing the right pallet racking
There are quite a number of factors that come into play when selecting the right warehouse racking and even the layout or configuration of your racking system. This includes factors such as; pallet accessibility, individual product pallet volume, type of product, forklift accessibility, requirements for stock picking and more. Ensuring that you have the right racking systems and layout can significantly improve warehouse performance and even help reduce lease costs by minimising space requirements.
Selective Racking
Selective racking is arguably the most common form of pallet racking as it will be found at least somewhere in most warehouse layouts. In selective racking, rows are one pallet deep which means you have greater access to any pallet at any time in comparison to other pallet racking systems. This makes it ideal for warehouses that have a high differentiation in palletised products or products with a limited shelf life. As each row is only one pallet deep it can increase the number of aisles in your warehouse, however, rows can be placed back to back to help reduce the space required. Another great advantage of selective racking is the ability to incorporate industrial shelving into the configuration of each row for storage of boxes, single items or stock picking. If your warehouse will be consistently storing multiple pallets of the same product, a high-density system like pushback racking would be better suited.
Push Back Racking
Pushback racking is a pallet racking system that can be configured from two to six pallets deep. It is based on a track and cart system where pallets sit on carriages that run on an ascending track. As each new pallet is added to the system the rear pallet/s are pushed further up the track. Conversely, as each pallet is removed the pallet/s in the rear are brought forward by gravity.
Raised Storage Areas
A raised storage area is a racking supported structure that can create additional levels of racking or floor space in your warehouse. Raised storage areas (otherwise known as racking based warehouse mezzanine floors or multi-tier racking) are the ultimate choice for maximising the use of overall space in a warehouse. This is because they provide the ability to take advantage of otherwise unoccupied air space. These systems include staircases, handrails and pallet gates for maximum safety.
High-Density Racking
High-density racking systems are ideal for warehouses that store multiple pallets of the same item, as systems can be configured two to ten plus pallets deep. High-density systems are a massive space saver as they remove the need for aisles between multiple pallet rows, compared to selective systems which require aisle access for each row of pallets. Some great examples of high-density racking include pushback racking, drive-in racking and pallet-flow racking.
